JUNIOR WEEK CAMP #1  May 29-June 1 (4 days)

This camp is offered at LLSC to encourage beginners, intermediates and advanced sailors to get their sailing season started with a 4 day camp that focuses on fun, boating safety and the basics of sailing. Intermediate and advanced sailors will be separated and focus on technical skills and racing.  

Group #1 - Optimist Sailboats ages 7-14 **SOLD out** Space limited to 25

Group #2 - Club 420 ages 12-18
Group #2 2018 Camp fees: $300 member / $350 non-member    Space limited to 8 


Other Camp Information:

  • Campers provide own lunch, snack is provided in afternoon.
  • Class runs from 8:30-5pm
  • Water bottle, lifejacket, Sunscreen, water shoes (closed toe), towel & change of clothes required.
  • All campers must pass a 'swim check' with a lifejacket and be able to tread water.
  • Friday conclusion for fun awards, 3pm. See-n-sail photo opportunity at 2 pm.
  • Late Fee for registration after May 15th $100
  • Member registration starts 3/15, Non-Member 4/1.

Lanier Junior Race Week May 29-June 1 (4 days)  
Lanier Youth Race Week is designed for older and  advanced sailors to get their experience racing a variety of boats including: C420 (spin/trap), Thistles, Flying Scots and Melges 24s.  This is a 4 day racing camp that focuses on racing skills, boating safety, and teamwork. AM clinic and PM fleet racing

Junior Week Camp #2   June 3 - June 8th

8:00 – 7:00pm   5.5 days; *4 pm start on Sunday  

This camp is offered at LLSC to encourage beginners, intermediates and advanced sailors to get sailing training that focuses on fun, boating safety and the basics of sailing including racing. Intermediate and advanced sailors will be separated and focus on technical skills and racing. The end of the week will conclude with racing for all levels and a family style dinner and awards Friday night. Total # of campers limited to 60. SOLD OUT


 
Junior Adventure FUN Sailing Camp #3  June 11-15

This camp is offered at LLSC to encourage all sailors to enjoy the lake and experience many different types of boats LLSC has to offer. The focus will be safe and fun on the water while sailing to destinations (ie: Aqualand for ice cream, islands for lunch, etc.) using many boats (ie: Stand Up Paddleboards, Kayaks, Optimist, C420s, Flying Scots, and rides on keel boats).  The goal is to be safe on the water while enjoying the sport of sailing. Juniors will be grouped by ages in different types of boats.

Ages 7-16  Boats Provided   Total space limited to 10 spots left
2018 Camp fees: $350 member / $400 non-member

  • Water bottle, lifejacket, Sunscreen, water shoes (closed toe), towel & change of clothes required.
  • All campers must pass a 'swim check' with a lifejacket and be able to tread water.
  • Friday conclusion for fun awards, 3 pm. Friday See-n-sail photo opportunity at 2 pm.
  • Late Fee for registration after May 30th $50
  • Member registration starts 3/15, Non-Member 4/1.


US Powerboat Safe Handling Class  June 30-July 1

16 hr, 2 day COURSE, 13+ years old. Class sizes limited to 8. 
Fees: $200 members / $250 non-members. Scheduled for June/July.

This 16-hour hands-on course is for anyone who needs their state boating license, wants to learn how to safely operate a small powerboat, and wants to improve their boat handling skills. The US Coast Guard and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) have approved this course. We will cover classroom topics such as Boating Safety, Aids to Navigation and Rules of the Road. On the water drills will focus on close quarters boat handling such as docking, pivot turns, and backing up. Over half the course is spent on the water so don't just sit in a classroom to get your boating license- let us get you on the water!
