NOTICE OF RACE LAKE LANIER SAILING CLUB presentsPHRF Championship Series Open Regatta(Formerly known as the 1064 and Whitecapper) March 10, May 12, and November 10, 2018 1. ORGANIZING AUTHORITY:The Lake Lanier Sailing Club (LLSC) Auxiliary Fleet is the organizing authority for this series. 2. RULES:The races will be governed by the Rules as defined in the current Racing Rules of Sailing (RSS) 2017-2020. 3. ELIGIBILITY:The regatta is open to all auxiliary boats. All boats must have a current LLPHRF rating certificate on file with LLPHRF.http://www.phrf-lakelanier.com/home/ 4. FLEETS:Fleets may include: sportboat and PHRF. Fleets will be split by PHRF handicap ratings based upon the number of boats registered in thefirst race. A minimum of 3 boats will constitute a fleet. 5. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:Sailing Instructions (SI’s) will be distributed at the LLSC clubhouse during registration each day of series and will be posted on the officialnotice board at LLSC. 6. SCORING:The low point scoring system using the standard time on distance corrected time formula (basedon current LLPHRF ratings) will apply to class scoring. 7. COURSES:Courses will be designated by the race committee before each race using permanent Corps and LLSC marks. Startswill be in the vicinity of X mark. 8. NUMBER OF RACES:Depending on conditions, more than one race may be started. No races will start after 3:30 pm. 9. TROPHIES:Trophies will be based on fleet size and will be awarded based on number of registrants and finishers in each fleetafter each race day (March 10, May 12, Nov 10).The perpetual trophy will be awarded at the end of the series on Nov. 10, 2018. 10. ENTRIES AND FEES:On-site registration will be available at the LLSC clubhouse on May 12, 2018 at 9:00 am. The entry fee is $30 for the rest ofthe series ( May 12, Nov 10) if not a current LLSC Auxiliary Fleet member. Checks payable to DANASTEWART. Bring your entry form and payment to the skipper’s meeting. Please email stewartdanam@gmail.com ifyou plan to enter. 11. SKIPPER’S MEETING:A skipper’s meeting will be held at the LLSC clubhouse at 9:30 am on Saturday, May 12, 2018. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITYSailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participation entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decisionto Rae. The race organizers (organizing authority, race committee, protest committee, host club, sponsors, or any other organization or official)will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to a competitor, including death, sustained as a result ofparticipation in this event. By participation in this event, each competitor agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liabilityassociated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
