How do I to become a member?
- Visit our Club for a tour and a brief new member interview with someone from our membership team.
- Fill out our online application.
- Provide the names and signatures of your two member sponsors. New to the area? Don't worry - we will introduce you to the members.

What happens after I submit my application and complete my interview?
After submitting your application, it will be reviewed at the next monthly Board meeting (held the 3rd Monday of every month). If approved, your application is posted for consideration and you can start using club facilities, but cannot yet reserve a slip. The posting period lasts one month. A month later the Board will consider your application for membership. If approved, and after paying all fees and dues, you will become a member.
What are my obligations as a member?
LLSC is a Volunteer-run club and every member is obligated to do their part. The club has only two full-time employees. In addition to mandatory Race Committee (no experience required) duty once per year, a member may be asked to help out with:
- Regatta Management
- Social Events and Open Houses
- Work Parties
Does the Club have sailboats for use by members?
Yes, the Club owns both Flying Scots and 420 sailboats that are available for use by Club members after being checked-out in these boats by one of our instructors, and when these boats are not being used by our Jr. Sailing or Adult Training programs. A yearly $100 maintenance fee is also required for those who wish to use the Club-owned Flying Scots.
Are wet/dry slips currently available?
The Club has 3 lots of dry storage so typically, dry slips are available. Wet slips generally fill up before dry slips, although there is often availability. Contact the Membership Chair for up-to-date information.
Can I move my boat to the Club immediately after joining the Club?
New members may not reserve a slip (or put their name on a waiting list) until they become full members. The Board will vote to post new member applications at the next monthly meeting after the application received, but full membership does not start until the following monthly meeting when the posted application is voted on again.
